Amazon2LiveWriter

Amazon2LiveWriter is a small plug-in for Windows Live Writer that can insert associate links for Amazon.com and its international declinations*.

Installation

An installer will come soon, for now, all you need is the binary library that should be manually placed in the Plugins directory of your Windows Live Writer installation (e.g. C:\Program Files\Windows Live Writer\Plugins)

Configuration

Probably, the first thing you will want to do is configure Amazon2LiveWriter to use your own associate IDs. Follow the images, which you can click for larger versions:

Use

You can use the plug-in in two ways:

• Paste the Amazon URL (Internet address) of the product you want to link to directly where you want the link to appear. The plug-in will use the default configuration (see above) to create a link.
• Use one of the Insert Amazon Link... buttons under the Insert menu or on the sidebar to bring up a window to customize your link.

(1) You can enter either an Amazon URL (Internet address) or an ASIN (Amazon product number) to create a link.

(1b) You can extract the ASIN from the URL if you entered one.

(2) Your tracking ID will be determined automatically based on the selected Amazon site. However, you can change it by hand if you wish to.

(3) If you entered a URL, the Amazon site will be determined automatically, otherwise, you can select your own.

(4) Select the type of link you want to create.

(5) Insert or Cancel :)
